COMESA Business Council is thrilled to be part of the groundbreaking COMESA Awareness Workshop, themed “Economic Integration for a Thriving COMESA Anchored on Green Investment, Value Addition, and Tourism.” Led by COMESA Secretary General, Her Excellency Ms. Chileshe Mpundu Kapwepwe, the event commenced yesterday, 15th April 2024, at the prestigious Hennessy Park Hotel in Ebène, Mauritius.

Over two enlightening days (15th and 16th April 2024), this workshop aims to shine a spotlight on the vital work of COMESA Institutions dedicated to fostering regional integration and driving economic growth across our 21 member states, including Mauritius.

Representing COMESA Business Council, our CEO, Mr. Teddy Soobramanien, had the privilege of presenting on CBC’s key strategic direction and programs for 2024. These initiatives, supported by our valued development partners, include:

• The Digital Financial Inclusion Program, spearheading the development of the COMESA Digital Retail Payment Scheme with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
• Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building for CBC, backed by the Federation of German Industries.
• The Regional Track and Trace System in COMESA, a project under the EU African RISE Program.
• The EU Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) for COMESA French-Speaking Countries.
• The ACP-EU Supported Local Sourcing for Partnerships Project.
