Mr. Sudir Chuckun

About

Sudir has extensive experience working in Africa, having served as an Advisor to the CEOs of both the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Secretariats. He also worked for the Australian Government African Development Program, where he was responsible for Program Risk Management, M&E, and Program Investment Review.

At the NEPAD Secretariat, Sudir served as the Senior Policy Advisor to the CEO and as a Member of the Joint AfDB/NEPAD Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility Steering Committee. During his tenure as Advisor to the CEO at the APRM, he led its formal integration into the African Union (AU). Sudir has extensive networks within the AU, DFIs, and development partners in general. He also maintains senior-level networks with access to senior policymakers across the African continent.
Sudir has advised several junior African mining exploration companies in attracting investors globally. He served as the Strategic Advisor to a junior Mozambican graphite explorer and a junior Tanzanian gold miner in securing investment capital for a toll mill project.

At the SADC Business Council, Sudir was the Trade and Investment Advisor, leading the Trade Facilitation Program. He managed the GIZ grant, helped design AfCFTA-focused sensitization initiatives for the business sector in the SADC region, and managed the regional NTBs Resolution Initiative, among others.

Currently, at the COMESA Business Council, Sudir oversees the implementation of the CBC’s AfCFTA implementation program targeted at the COMESA region’s private sector constituents.
