Salome Phiri is a seasoned Media and Communications professional with over 7 years of experience in the field. She holds a joint Erasmus Mundus master’s degree in journalism, Media, and Globalization from Aarhus University, Denmark, and the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Previously, Salome served at the Ministry of Information and Media under the Public Relations department at ZANIS as a District Information Officer. During her tenure, she actively contributed to implementing developmental projects and social change programs such as the Ending Child Marriage that earned her recognition with the prestigious Impact Maker Award under the NUFFIC Global Development- The Netherlands.
Salome has consistently collaborated with reputable organizations such as UNICEF Zambia, Time for Action, NUFFIC Global Development, Constructive Institute, and Erasmus + youth project.
Her international media and communication experience includes serving at The Netherlands international broadcaster ,RNW Media and World Vision.
With her strategic communications expertise, Salome is committed to enhancing the visibility of the COMESA Business Council (CBC), expanding its membership outreach, and advancing the organization’s regional agenda. As a Communications and Membership Officer, she is dedicated to driving forward the CBC’s mission and contribute to SDGs.
