Partnerships Towards Enhanced Financial Inclusion for the Business Community in the COMESA Region

We are privileged and honoured to have partnered with Standard Chartered (SC) Bank on the upcoming 16th  COMESA Business Forum through an incredible cheque donation of $30,000 towards successful hosting of the Business Forum.
 
Speaking at the cheque handover ceremony this afternoon, CBC Chief Executive Officer, Teddy Soobramanien noted that SC Bank’s gesture is a demonstration of the Bank’s commitment towards ensuring digital financial inclusion for the business community in the COMESA region.
 
‘’As the private sector strives for greater financial inclusion, we are elated to have such partnerships towards greater financial inclusion. Today’s event crystalizes our partnership with SC Bank and is a key step towards advancing greater access to financial services for Micro Small and Medium-sized enterprises as well as businesses with limited resources”, he stated.


Teddy Soobramanien further noted that stimulation of entrepreneurial efficiencies and enterprise competitiveness of  MSME’s through facilitating access to digital financial #literacy and ensuring digital transactions that are transparent, affordable and secure is imperative towards driving the growth of intra-COMESA trade.

And Standard Chartered Bank Managing Director, Sonny Zulu echoed the Bank’s commitment towards ensuring a powerful and transformative impact on the #digital financial inclusion space for women and youths across the COMESA region

The Bank pledges its support to CBC towards successful implementation of initiatives that help strengthen financial inclusion for the business community across the COMESA region. We look forward to enhanced collaborations inclined towards generating significant positive economic impact for the business community, especially the marginalized groups” he stated. 
 
The 16th COMESA Business Forum is scheduled to take place tomorrow at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka, Zambia. The event has attracted over 1000 regional and international businesses and visitors from 21 Member States of COMESA.

The Business Forum is a multi-sectoral platform for the promotion of quality products and services that are currently breaking ground in terms of high value and high demand in regional and international markets.
