Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in Southern Africa and shares borders with South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia and Botswana. It has a total area of 390,580 square kilometres and an estimated population of 14 million persons.
Zimbabwe is a member of the COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Its economic profile is summarized below: Zimbabwe’s economy is to a modest extent diversified. Agriculture remains the principal source of employment but the mining and services sectors are also expanding in terms of export earnings, employment and contribution to GDP. Manufacturing contributes to about 15% of GDP in Zimbabwe, agriculture at 14% and mining 10 % and the services sector about 61%. Key export products include tobacco, gold, nickel and diamonds.

Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce is non-profit making membership based organization. The Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries- ( CZI) is an confederation that fosters, encourages, promotes, protects and advances the sustainable growth and development of the manufacturing industry and business development in Zimbabwe.
Main Objectives of the Confederation are To be the representational voice for the manufacturing industry and active business; To promote a competitive, minimally regulated business environment in Zimbabwe wherein standards of excellence prevail and Members are able to succeed; To maintain strong working relationships with Members, Government, other business sector organizations and any other stakeholders which may serve the common interests of Members; To require its Members to maintain standards of integrity, ethical business practice, courtesy and efficiency; To support sound environmental practice compatible with sustainable
