The COMESA Business Council (CBC) is the recognized apex business organization in the region, representing private sector interests at the highest levels of decision making in the region. The CBC provides key market driven services to its membership, namely- business advocacy, business support services- linkages, partnerships and market intelligence, and membership development – technical and productive capacity building.

We represent the interests of businesses sectors at a regional level. The services provided go beyond advocacy, to actively promote business participation in regional integration, investment and global trade. This is done by facilitating the growth of strong business synergies, the development of business opportunities, business alliances, legislative and strategic advocacy. We provide custom tailored services that are driven by both industry and enterprise interests.
SCOPE OF WORK
We’re looking for a highly organized and efficient professional with administrative experience and a basic understanding of the tenets of technical operations in a company. The successful candidate will provide oversight for all administrative matters including those in logistics and customer service. We’re looking for a take-charge individual who feels comfortable balancing tasks among employees and who can make changes to improve CBC’s efficiency and productivity metrics. The Administrative Officer will provide assistance to the team to ensure that routine services and activities within the administrative domain are properly implemented.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the overall management of the CBC Board and the direct supervision of the CBC Chief Executive, the incumbent will be responsible for efficient operation of all administrative, customer service and logistical matters such as secretarial and reception, administration, customer relations, information, event management, data and ledger management, mail, materials scheduling and distribution, printing and reproduction, records management, telecommunications management, security, procurement, supply and disposal.
