The COMESA Business Council(CBC), is a Regional Business Member Services Organization, which represents private sector interests in 19 countries in Africa, under the trade bloc- Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa(COMESA). The CBC- Private Sector Institution of COMESA- is governed by a Board of Directors(9) who are leaders of industry in Africa. Services provided are in business policy advocacy, business development and support services and membership development.
Ms. Uwera has a recognized success in institutional establishment and sustainability. During her tenure , she has established ties with various stakeholders that have positioned the CBC as a recognized business services organization that is sustainable in the short period of 6 years since it became operational.
Some of her core competencies are in programs and project management , having ensured delivery in record time and sustainability post implementation. Recognized expertise in organization management, business policy and advocacy, private sector development, strategic planning, business development, fund mobilization and management, corporate communications, competitive strategy, risk management, alliances and partnerships, corporate governance, business intelligence, marketing, public relations, strategic management.
As a leader, she is reputed for sustaining strong relationship management with key stakeholders of the public and private community ranging from corporates, SMEs, policy Makers (government), development partnerships.

Ms. Kudzai Madzivanyika
Kudzai is the Business and Policy Advocacy Officer at the COMESA Business Council; managing the policy advocacy portfolio which includes the development of analytical papers and advocacy positions for private sector on key trade regulatory and economic issues, stakeholder engagement and business coalitions, business and participation in trade negotiations and policy forums.
She is a highly motivated, analytical and detail oriented individual whom over the past 10 years has been employed in legal research, analytical and consultancy positions, and been exposed to major issues of regional integration, including economic integration, trade facilitation, private sector development, program management, monitoring and evaluation in Zimbabwe, SADC and COMESA regions.
She holds a Masters of Laws in International Trade and a Bachelor of Laws degree with distinction.

With more than 10 years of private sector industry engagement; Gallina Tembo is the COMESA Business Council – Industry Programs Officer. She brings in professional expertise in corporate and media communications, digital and traditional marketing, business linkages, corporate events management, business and policy advocacy, business development, membership outreaches and many more competencies.
Gallina holds a bachelor of Education with English and psychology as minors, advanced Post Graduate Diploma in International Trade Policy and Trade Law and she is currently pursuing a Master of Science in International Trade Policy and Trade Law under Lund University as well as a Master of Arts in Gender and Development at the University of Zambia.
Mr. Peter Sibande
Accounting professional with over ten years of experience, possesses multiple skills covering many financial areas such as ledger analysis, financial statements and budgeting.
Peter is currently the COMESA Business Council Project Accountant.He is a holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CIMA Finalist and currently pursuing MSc in Economics and Finance.

Miss. Regina Banda is the Administrative and Communications Assistance at the COMESA Business Council. She holds a BA in International Economics and Trade from Wuhan University, China and an Intermediate Certificate in Social Studies and Japanese Language from ARC Academy in Shibuya Tokyo, Japan. Miss Banda has Earned over a year’s work experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Research and another year in Communications and Administration since her graduation.
Miss. Banda wishes to further her education in the near future with a Master’s Degree in Development Studies and Gender affairs.
